Website Design & Build

A website that earns its keep.

I've spent years building sites for small businesses that need customers, not awards. Every page has a job. Every element on it is there because it helps someone decide to call you.

What I actually do

Responsive front-end

Modern HTML, CSS and React-based builds. Mobile-first layouts, accessible contrast and tap targets, keyboard navigation, and semantic markup that screen readers and search engines both understand.

Performance

Compressed and correctly sized images, lazy loading, minimal scripts, fast hosting and caching. Pages that load in a second or two on a phone with two bars of signal.

SEO fundamentals

Unique titles and meta descriptions per page, clean URL structure, structured data, sitemaps, local business schema, Google Business Profile setup, and location pages that actually rank for the towns you serve.

Conversion design

Clear single call to action per page, trust signals, before-and-after galleries, reviews placed where hesitation happens, and forms short enough that people finish them.

Integrations

CRM and lead routing, calendars and booking, Stripe or Square payments, email marketing, review automation, quote calculators, and AI chat or phone answering tied to your real availability.

Content & photography direction

Guidance on the photos, headshots and service descriptions that make a small business look established — and editing what you already have so it works on the web.

Migrations & rescues

Moving off an outdated builder, recovering a site nobody has the login for, fixing broken forms and busted mobile layouts, and consolidating three half-finished sites into one.

Maintenance & security

Backups, SSL, updates, uptime monitoring, spam filtering on forms, and a real person to call when something looks wrong.

How a build goes

01

Discovery & strategy

We start with your business, not a template. Who buys from you, what they need to see, and the single action the site should drive — a call, a quote request, a booking. I map the pages around that, not around what looks impressive.

02

Copy & structure

Most sites fail on words, not pixels. I write the page structure and plain-language copy with you: headline, proof, offer, call to action. You approve the wireframe before a single color gets picked.

03

Design & build

Hand-built, responsive front-end — no bloated page builder dragging your load times down. Clean typography, real photos of your work, and layouts that read just as well on a phone in a parking lot as on a desktop.

04

Wire it into your business

Forms that land in your inbox and your CRM. Online booking, payments, Google Business Profile, review requests, email lists, chat and AI receptionist where it earns its keep. The site becomes part of your workflow.

05

Launch & measure

Domain, hosting, SSL, redirects from the old site so you keep your rankings, analytics, and conversion tracking. You get a walkthrough recording and a one-page cheat sheet for making your own edits.

06

Care & iteration

Sites are never finished. Monthly care covers updates, backups, uptime, content changes and a short report on what's working — plus tweaks based on what visitors actually do.

Typical projects run three to six pages and launch in two to four weeks. Bigger builds with booking, payments or AI answering take longer — I'll tell you honestly which one you need.
